Freelance Site Manager (July Start – Up to 6 Months)

We are working with a well-established, forward-thinking construction business specialising in the delivery of high-quality projects across the education sector. Known for its collaborative approach and commitment to safety, quality, and programme certainty, the company has built a strong reputation for successfully delivering both new-build and refurbishment schemes in live school environments.

The Role

Experienced Freelance Site Managers are required to join the team on a freelance basis from July, overseeing a series of education-focused projects with a duration of up to six months. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, where you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards, while maintaining strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Project Scope

  • New-build modular classroom installations
  • External refurbishment schemes
  • Roofing replacements
  • Window and door upgrades

All projects are within educational settings, requiring sensitivity to live environments and careful planning around school operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day site management and supervision of subcontractors

  • Managing programme and coordinating trades to meet deadlines
  • Maintaining quality control and overseeing snagging processes
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and school representatives
  • Managing site documentation, reporting, and progress updates

About You

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction (education sector experience desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of refurbishment and/or modular build projects
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage works in live environments with minimal disruption
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)
