Odyssey House NSW’s trauma-informed services set us apart as a leader in the support service space for alcohol and other drugs dependency. Our teams help clients to meet their goals and address underlying trauma and mental health issues, while also developing new skills to improve all aspects of their lives. We provide a diverse range of services to individuals, families and community education. Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

Community Living Supports (CLS) is a state-wide psychosocial support program for people with complex mental health needs, with the focus on supporting consumers to live well in their community with choice, dignity and self-determination. CLS works alongside consumers to build on their strengths and aspirations, offering practical support that promotes recovery, confidence, independence and connection to community.
The CLS Care Navigator works collaboratively with consumers to connect with services and supports in the community, facilitating person-centred and integrated care in line with the consumer’s Individual Support Plan (ISP). This position delivers practical support through information sharing and education, identifying and addressing barriers to access and facilitating warm referrals, ensuring consumers are linked to the right services. This position also works collaboratively with the CLS team, the Local Health District and local partners to provide seamless support.
Skills And Experiences
- Relevant VET qualification or tertiary qualification in relevant field and professional registration where relevant.
- Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of consumers with mental health and/or substance use challenges.
- Demonstrated understanding of supports and services available in the local communities.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with consumers and their families or carers to provide care navigation and referral support.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills and ability work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Strong organisational, time management and planning skills, with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while displaying a high level of attention to detail and maintaining a calm and respectful manner.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary team; work efficiently and effectively and be flexible to the changing needs of the work environment.
- The ability to regulate emotions, remain calm and be emotionally resilient while interacting and supporting clients with high levels of emotion and at times emotionally disturbing conversations.

- Hold or have the ability to obtain a Criminal History Check and Working With Children clearance for paid employment.
- Current NSW Driver's License.
- Unlimited right to live and work in Australia.
