We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Process Operator for the Hot End of our manufacturing facility in Harlow, Essex. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC) position, ideal for a reliable individual looking to gain valuable experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate and monitor hot end production equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality
- Conduct regular quality checks and adjust process parameters as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Record production data and complete necessary documentation accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and report any equipment malfunctions promptly
- Participate in safety briefings and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment
The shift pattern would be 6 on 2 off rotating through mornings, afternoons and nights after you have completed your initial training and safety sign off.
Qualifications:
- Secondary education or equivalent; relevant vocational qualifications in manufacturing or engineering preferred
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in hot end processes
- Knowledge of hot end manufacturing processes and quality control procedures
- Proficiency in operating and monitoring production equipment
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
- Experience with process control systems and equipment
- Understanding of glass or similar materials processing (if applicable to the specific industry)
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks in a factory environment
