Working as part of our Batch Furnace team you will be responsible for ensuring the furnace is operating safely and effectively. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure safe and effective operation of the furnace adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and control furnace temperature, pressure and other critical parameters.
  • Track and analyse furnace performance data identifying trends and anomalies.
  • Take prompt corrective actions to address any operational issues or deviations from standard procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding furnace status and any concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all actions taken including maintenance activities and operational adjustments.
  • Conduct regular inspections of furnace equipment and associated systems to identify potential problems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and assist with more complex repairs as needed.
  • Manage and optimise fuel consumption to ensure efficient furnace operation.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production flow and meet quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance furnace efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in training new team members on furnace operation procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials used in the furnace process.
  • Comply with all environmental regulations related to furnace operations.
  • Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and safety briefings.

This position is a shift position working 12 hours shifts 4 on 4 off.

Qualifications:

  • Prior background working in industrial production preferably a chemical processing facility.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instruction.
  • Able to demonstrate basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and operating instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
