The EHS Manager will be responsible for driving Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance within the facility to help achieve best-in-class standards in environmental stewardship, health, and safety. You will work closely with operational teams to implement preventative measures, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve overall EHS practices. Spending a significant amount of your time on the workplace floor, you will actively engage with employees to promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible working environment, fostering a culture of continuous EHS improvement.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, onsite.
Job Purpose:
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to engage the workforce in EHS practices and initiatives.
- Perform regular internal audits and inspections to monitor and ensure compliance with all EHS policies, including health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support, coach, and influence all staff to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Review high-risk jobs and assess environmental impact to develop safer and more sustainable systems of work.
- Develop and implement safe systems of work and environmentally-friendly practices.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate EHS training programs for staff at all levels.
- Work with internal stakeholders to nurture best practices in operational safety and environmental management as core values.
- Serve as the trusted point of contact for all EHS-related issues within the facility.
Qualifications:
- Environmental bias – ISO14001 required
- NEBOSH
- At least 2 years of working as an EHS Manager in a manufacturing, construction and/or engineering environment
- Previous experience working in high-risk environment, developing safe systems of work
- Strong relationship building, influencing and coaching skills
