Job Description As a Day Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for inspections, repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of all related equipment. You will also be involved in continuous improvement projects within the plant. As we operate 24/7, there may be instances where you are required to work outside your core hours to ensure the safety of employees and the manufacturing process. Working Hours: Monday – Friday, daytime hours. Work Environment: This role involves working in various environments around the site, including confined spaces, heights, outdoor areas, shop floors, and office areas. It is not a workshop-based role. Key Responsibilities: Prioritise safety and safe working practices. Perform inspections, repairs, adjustments and maintenance of equipment. Participate in continuous improvement projects. Work across different departments collaboratively. Requirements: Qualified mechanical engineer. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including but not limited to grinders, drill presses, calipers, micrometers, protractors, gauges, wrenches, chisels, files, and scrapers. Strong attention to detail to ensure the right fix the first time and maintain tidy and safe work areas. Collaborative approach to work across departments. Qualifications: Time served in a mechanical engineering discipline. Additional Information: From £17.02 per hour, increasing with qualifications. Enhanced overtime rates.
