Nzime are looking for a talented Backend Developer with a passion for PHP, custom integrations, working with APIs, AI, third party systems and producing performant, standards compliant code. We are a busy, dynamic digital agency looking for an enthusiastic and capable developer to join our team. You'll be instrumental in building and maintaining high-quality web solutions for our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining, and optimising backend services using PHP and the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
- Working with version control, primarily GIT, to manage and track code changes.
- Debugging issues and reviewing code from peers to ensure quality and best practice standards.
- Contributing creative technical ideas and solutions to the development team.
- Working effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Actively keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and suggesting innovative ways to apply them to our work.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer (ideally 2+ years) or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and working within a LAMP environment.
- Expertise in using GIT for version control.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
- A keen interest in emerging tech, such as AI, and how it can be used to enhance development.
- The ability to contribute positively to a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Prior experience with CraftCMS or similar modern PHP Content Management Systems.
