This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly specialist environment supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex needs, and sensory impairments.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a tutor group, providing high-quality pastoral care and ensuring that provision outlined within each pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is fully met. You will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding teaching and learning while promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and personal independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities that enable pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment aligned with the school’s Positive Behaviour for Learning Manifesto
  • Lead and support a class team to ensure consistently high standards of teaching and learning
  • Assess, track, and report pupil progress effectively
  • Prepare for and contribute to Person-Centred Reviews
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, colleagues, and external professionals
  • Develop best-practice approaches and specialist skills to promote inclusion, equity, and pupil agency
  • Support pupils with vision impairment (experience in this area is desirable)

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent)
  • Is fully compliant with UK teaching roles
  • Has previous experience working with ASD/Autism and Complex Needs
  • Has experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings (essential)
  • Experience with Vision Impairment is highly desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
  • Is passionate about delivering inclusive, pupil-centred education
