NYKAYS Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs (SEN) at a school in Walthamstow.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and become more independent.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils individually, in small groups and within the classroom.
- Delivering planned learning activities and targeted interventions.
- Leading classroom learning when required, under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Adapting activities to meet pupils’ individual needs.
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement.
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals.
- Monitoring pupils’ progress and sharing feedback with the teaching team.
We are looking for someone with:
- HLTA status or a relevant qualification, or substantial experience working at an equivalent level.
- Experience supporting children with SEN.
- Confidence leading learning activities and managing classroom behaviour.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
