I am seeking a qualified and fully compliant Science Teacher to join their dedicated team temporarily, starting as soon as possible or from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator with experience in Special Educational Needs, particularly supporting pupils with vision impairment, to make a meaningful impact.
The Role
- Deliver high-quality teaching of the Science curriculum to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including vision impairment.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Take responsibility for a tutor group, providing strong pastoral care.
- Ensure each pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is fully supported and implemented.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SEN professionals, and parents/carers.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
- Experience teaching Science at a relevant secondary level.
- Proven experience working with SEND pupils, ideally with vision impairment.
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and inclusive teaching practices.
- Fully compliant to work in the UK (including Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply).
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
