This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly specialist environment supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex needs, and sensory impairments.
The Role
You will take responsibility for a tutor group, providing high‑quality pastoral care and ensuring that provision outlined within each pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is fully met. You will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding teaching and learning while promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and personal independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities that enable pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment aligned with the school’s Positive Behaviour for Learning Manifesto.
- Lead and support a class team to ensure consistently high standards of teaching and learning.
- Assess, track, and report pupil progress effectively.
- Prepare for and contribute to Person‑Centred Reviews.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Develop best‑practice approaches and specialist skills to promote inclusion, equity, and pupil agency.
- Support pupils with vision impairment (experience in this area is desirable).
