Overview
At NYKays Recruitment Ltd we are recruiting experienced ASD Teaching Assistants to start immediately working on a long-term contract which could possibly lead to a permanent position.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to support schools in providing care and support to children with a range of Special Needs and behavioral difficulties within the Education/Special Needs sector with ASD verbal and non verbal complex needs.
It is essential that you have experience working with children/young people with learning difficulties, particularly autism to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Supporting children with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and SEN on a 1:1 basis.
- Provide day to day support to Teachers in teaching and learning.
- Supporting colleagues in undertaking personal care related tasks.
- Working effectively alongside other teaching and support staff to ensure a safe and productive work environment is maintained.
- Adhere to the Schools policies including Safeguarding, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, Health and Safety.
Requirements
- Experience of supporting children with ASD and other associated challenging behaviors
- Experience working with as a Special Needs Teaching assistant with special needs children for at least 3 months
- A commitment to working with children with special educational needs
- Ability to manage confrontation & challenging behavior
- Ability to adapt and respond to children needs and plan accordingly
- Must be an energetic and enthusiastic team player
- Must have patience
- Be proactive
- Ideally have good experience working one to one as a teaching assistant.
- Work well in a team
- Have a positive attitude
- Have a passion for working with children with Special Needs
