At NYKays Recruitment Ltd we are recruiting for experienced ASD & PMLD Teaching Assistants to start ASAP, working day to day or long-term contracts which could possibly lead to a permanent position.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to support schools in providing care and support to children with a range of Special Needs and behavioral difficulties within the Education/Special Needs sector.
It is essential that you have experience working with children/young people with learning difficulties, particularly autism to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Support children with ASD and SEN on a 1:1 basis
- Assist teachers with daily teaching and learning activities
- Support colleagues with personal care tasks
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure a safe and productive environment
- Follow school policies on safeguarding, child protection, behavior management, and health and safety
- Support children with PMLD and SEN on a 1:1 basis
- Assist teachers with daily teaching and learning activities

Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with ASD, PMLD, and other challenging behaviors
- At least 3 months of experience as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant with children with special needs
- Committed to working with children with SEN and complex needs
- Ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviors
- Skilled in adapting to children\’s needs and planning accordingly
- Energetic, enthusiastic, proactive, and a positive team player
- Patience, caring, friendly, and dependable
- Experience working one-to-one with children in a demanding environment
- Capable of contributing creatively to student development
- Able to supervise and record attendance during school sessions
- Works well in a team and builds effective professional relationships
