A Female Personal Support Assistant is required for 9 hours per week to support a totally blind lady in enjoying and persuing her hobbies, interests and activities.
The hours are flexible and to be mutually agreed depending on activity etc.
The rate of pay is £13.79 per hour.
Do you love to take long walks in the woods, such as Northmoor or Raincliffe woods?
Would you enjoy walking around the lake at The North Yorkshire Water Park?
Could you assist me to take part in some activities which the Water Park offer, such as the climbing wall, zip line, archery and axe throwing?
Would you be comfortable with 2 Labrador dogs in your car?
Are you interested in arts and craft and perhaps history?

I am looking for a female PA to work 9 hours a week. I am totally blind, and have high functioning autism, my disabilities do not stop me from living an active lifestyle. Activities I have participated in, include, horse riding, ice skating, archery, and using the climbing wall. I enjoy arts and crafts.
Last year I was involved in a history project about Dean Road Scarborough. I participated in lots of research, produced artwork and was involved in an exhibition. I made Christmas cards to help raise money for a new mini bus.
I also help at Yorkshire Coast Sight Support, and have been involved in offering organizations advice on how to make their facilities more accessible for blind and visually impaired users.
I have a retired guide dog, who means the world to me. His welfare is extremely important, I love taking him out for walks in the countryside. Next year I am planning on getting a Labrador puppy, and self training it to become an autism assistant dog for myself. So if you have dog experience that would be wonderful.
You do not need to have any experience of blindness or autism, but a willingness to learn is essential.
