Personal Support Assistant-0601D – Scarborough

A Personal Assistant is required to cover 5 hours per week, to support an 18 year old Down Syndrome young man who has severe autism. The hours are 5 hours usually on a Sunday to support him in his family home or with various hobbies/activities.

Duties are to include: supervision at home, personal needs such as toileting, personal hygiene, snacks, going out for walks to the seafront or parks, swimming and accompanying him to the theatre. Some outings may require his battery operated wheelchair.

Experience in Makaton, understanding of autism and PEC’s useful but not essential.

Requirements: to be physically fit, calm and friendly.

The rate of pay is £13.25 per hour

A DBS will be required for this position.
