Personal Assistant – D231 – Scarborough

Scarborough Full-Time No home office possible

My “Mum”, who is totally blind and autistic, is looking for a Female Personal Assistant to work between 6 and 9 hours per week. Some of the hours would need to be at the weekend, but this can be negotiated at interview. While my Mum has a disability, that doesn’t prevent her from participating in many activities. We love to go walking in Raincliffe Woods, where there are huge steep banks to climb, and multiple opportunities for my Mum to feel items and explore her environment. Other activities include horse riding, ice skating, tandem bike riding, creative artwork, archery, as well as using a climbing wall and a zip line at the North Yorkshire Water Park. We really enjoy supporting Yorkshire Coast Sight Support, giving awareness talks on blindness and visual impairment and my Mum also writes for the newsletter.

It’s not all fun and games though, my Mum also needs help with tasks like shopping, cooking, cleaning, and admin paperwork. While no experience is needed, a willingness to learn is essential. You will need to be a driver with a car and be comfortable with me in your car, because sometimes I can get rather muddy and wet. Rate of Pay: £12.10 per hour
