Overview
We are looking for a caring and considerate person to support a visually impaired gentleman to live his life as independently as possible.
The support assistant must have their own vehicle and a full, clean UK driving licence.
The gentleman has a guide dog that will accompany him, so the successful applicant must be OK with the assistance dog travelling in their car.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to enable the gentleman to carry out daily activities and maintain his independence.
- Assist with travel, appointments and any tasks that require mobility or navigation support.
- Ensure a safe and friendly environment for both the gentleman and his guide dog.
Qualifications
- Own vehicle and full, clean UK driving licence.
- Comfortable with a guide dog travelling in the vehicle.
- Car and enhanced DBS essential.
- Experience: Driving licence (preferred).
- Part‑time, Permanent role – up to 8 hours per week on a rota system with potential extra hours to cover holidays and sickness of other staff.
