Salary: From £38,622 (Grade 7). Location: Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire. Contract: Permanent, Full-time (Monday to Friday).

The Street Lighting team at NY Highways maintains over 52,000 street lights and 8,000 signs and bollards across the region. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for passionate and skilled Electricians to join us. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining and improving the county’s infrastructure, from street lighting to exciting new ventures like EV charging points.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and maintaining street lighting and street furniture
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
  • Locating and fixing underground cable faults
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards
  • Collaborating with a dedicated team across North Yorkshire

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates who bring technical expertise, experience, a flexible mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • BS7671/18th Edition qualification
  • City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 and 714 Inspection & Testing
  • Strong knowledge of electrical repairs, testing, and installations
  • Understanding of current legislation and health & safety standards
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to take part in out-of-hours emergency callouts (rota basis)
