Are you looking for a practical, secure role where no two days are the same? Do you want a role where your work makes a real difference every day to the local Selby community? At NY Highways, we're looking for a committed and safety-conscious Highways Operative (with LGV) to work as a Gully Tanker Driver in our Operations team, helping to keep roads and drainage systems safe all year round. This is more than a driving role. You'll be part of a dedicated team delivering essential highway maintenance services, operating specialist gully cleansing equipment and responding to emergencies as well as supporting winter maintenance activities when required.
What you'll be doing
- Operate specialist gully tanker vehicles to clean and maintain highway drainage systems.
- Carry out routine inspections and identify drainage defects or issues requiring further attention.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate records using handheld devices.
- Support highway maintenance activities, including traffic management and site safety arrangements.
- Assist with risk assessments and safe systems of work on site.
- Work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality services from our local Selby depot.
- Participate in an out-of-hours emergency and winter maintenance rota, including gritting and snow clearance operations when required.

What you’ll bring:
- Valid HGV/LGV driving licence.
