This role is within NYH Property, which operates independently from the highways maintenance side of NY Highways. While NYH Property is part of the wider NY Highways group, this position focuses solely on property maintenance and construction across a range of private, public and commercial buildings not highways or road infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Carrying out a full range of electrical work, including installation, testing, fault diagnosis, and repairs, in accordance with work orders and specifications.
- Work on a variety of tasks across different work programmes, including emergency repairs, planned maintenance, and capital projects.
- Liaise with supervisors, stakeholders, and team members to complete jobs effectively and escalate any unresolved matters.
- Contribute to the planning and safety documentation required for each project, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Supervise and train apprentices or junior staff members, ensuring high-quality work and compliance with health and safety practices.
- Ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, building codes, and internal processes and report on progress using handheld devices.
- Take part in the on-call rota for emergency out-of-hours repairs.
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Gold Card
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent testing qualification)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Proven experience in a similar hands-on role
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to travel across the county and participate in the on-call rota
- Enhanced DBS check (Children’s Barred List)
