NXTGEN is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded Accountancy firm in Norwich, known for its flexible and people-focused culture, as they look to appoint a Senior Payroll Assistant to join their excellent team. With the firm continuing to grow and do an exceptional job for clients, they’re expanding their payroll function to keep up with demand, and this new Senior Payroll Assistant will play a hugely influential role.

As a Senior Payroll Assistant, you'll take ownership of a varied client portfolio and become a trusted part of delivering high-quality, end-to-end payroll services. You’ll be joining one of the most supportive and friendly teams in Norwich, a team and Manager who genuinely love what they do and truly care about the service they provide. Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Handling complex payroll queries and providing expert advice on PAYE, pensions, and statutory deductions
  • Supporting bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations and transaction processing
  • Building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service
  • Working closely with the wider team to continuously improve processes and efficiencies

  • Experience in payroll processing within an accountancy practice or bureau environment
  • Knowledge of payroll software such as Sage Payroll or Xero Payroll
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively
