Job Description
NXTGEN are pleased to be working in exclusive partnership with a high-growth and ambitious business who are looking to appoint their first Management Accountant. This is a truly unique opportunity for a driven finance professional to take ownership of the finance function from the ground up, with a clear pathway of progression to Finance Manager and beyond. As the first Management Accountant in the business, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of finance within this exciting organisation.
In the early stages, you will be hands-on across all areas of finance, gaining a full understanding of everything from transactional activity through to month-end reporting. This breadth of exposure will give you unrivalled insight into the operations of the business. As the company continues its growth journey, you will then be tasked with building and leading your own finance team, providing you with a fantastic opportunity to step into leadership and make a tangible impact.
A further highlight of this role is the chance to be directly involved in the implementation of a new ERP system. This project will give you invaluable experience in systems design and optimisation, enhancing your skill set and equipping you for future senior finance roles.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of transactional processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across purchase and sales ledgers
- Managing month-end close, producing management accounts and insightful financial analysis
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide commercial finance support
- Playing a leading role in the implementation of a new ERP system
- Developing and improving finance processes and controls
- Supporting strategic decision-making and business planning
- Building and managing a future finance team as the function grows
This role would suit a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who is ambitious, hands-on, and eager to develop their career within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will thrive in a role where no two days are the same and where you can directly influence the success of the business.
