NXTGEN is excited to be working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Bury St Edmunds as they look to recruit an Audit Manager for their growing Corporate Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a leadership role, managing a diverse portfolio of clients and driving high-quality audit services. As the new Audit Manager, you will be joining the firm at an exciting time of growth, following a recent client win.
Working closely with the RI and Partners, you will play a key role in expanding the client portfolio while developing a strong, high-performing team. As Audit Manager, you will oversee audits, ensuring compliance, and delivering valuable insights to clients across a variety of sectors. Your role will have a good split of audit focused work as well as non-audit services, offering both variety and the chance to build strong client relationships while leading and developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage audits from planning to completion, ensuring high standards and technical excellence.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and tax compliance for a portfolio of corporate clients.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong, long-term relationships and offering proactive advice.
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of trainees and junior auditors, helping them develop their skills and progress in their careers.
- Review working papers and audit files before submission to senior leadership, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP and ISAs.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance audit efficiency and client service.
- ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least two years of post-qualification experience (recently qualified candidates with strong audit experience will also be considered).
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards, with experience in planning and leading audits.
- A confident communicator who can work effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
- Proven experience managing corporate clients with turnovers between £5-25 million.
- A self-motivated leader with excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure.
