Production Operative
Location:Carlisle
Hours:4 on 4 off (12-hour shifts)
Pay rate:starting from £12.30 + shift allowance

Were recruiting Production Operatives to join a well-established food production site, helping to maintain smooth and efficient operations across a busy, high-volume environment.
This is a great opportunity to work in a modern facility where product quality, safety, and teamwork are top priorities. Youll play an important role in making sure packaged goods are prepared to high standards and delivered on time.
Key responsibilities:
- Rotate between various workstations on the production line
- Monitor product quality and enter accurate data into digital systems
- Work as part of a team to meet daily packing targets
- Follow strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times
- Carry out quality checks, including metal detection procedures, and record results
- Make routine operational decisions within your area of responsibility
- Ensure correct packaging, coding, and labelling of products
- Plan for product or line changes and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Operate packing machinery and automated equipment safely
- Clean production and packing areas to the required hygiene standards
- Complete relevant documentation for traceability and compliance
About you:
- Good attention to detail and awareness of quality standards
- Positive, proactive approach to teamwork and daily tasks
- Previous experience in a food production or packing role is desirable
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
- Able to work with minimal supervision and make decisions confidently
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- Willing to learn new processes and follow training
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-focused environment
