NXT Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled and detail-oriented Private Client. This role requires someone with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear, strategic advice to clients.
The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing Bills of Costs, managing the provisional assessment process, advising on potential outcomes, and handling appeals. Strong communication skills are essential, as building relationships and collaborating effectively with clients and colleagues is a key part of the role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed, accurate, and comprehensive Bills of Costs for Deputyship Applications, General Management, Statutory Will Applications, Gift Applications, and other relevant matters.
- Providing expert advice on potential outcomes at provisional assessment and strategies to maximise recovery on each matter.
- Managing the provisional assessment process, including the use of HMCTS E-Filing service and completion of all necessary court forms, up to and including obtaining the Final Costs Certificate.
- Advising on the outcome of provisional assessments and determining whether there are grounds for appeal.
- Preparing informal written requests for reconsideration and, where necessary, requesting and handling oral hearings, including preparing all necessary documentation.
- Staying up to date with developments in the Court of Protection, SCCO rules, regulations, and relevant guidance.
- Attending training sessions, conferences, and seminars to enhance professional knowledge.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships by providing ongoing costs advice and delivering exceptional client care.
- Managing own caseload efficiently and to a high standard.
- Actively promoting legal costs services through social media, networking, and business development activities.
