Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Overview
NXT Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and growing engineering business to recruit a Stores & Procurement Coordinator based in Wigton.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful service team, taking responsibility for stock control, procurement processes, and the efficient operation of stores across multiple sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring parts are available when required, orders are processed efficiently, and stores operations run smoothly.
This role would suit an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is confident managing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory across multiple stores and depots, completing regular stock checks
  • Maintain accurate stock records and identify opportunities to improve stock management
  • Process purchase orders and manage supplier orders through internal systems
  • Ensure parts orders are received, processed, and dispatched within required timescales
  • Coordinate the delivery and distribution of parts to customers and mobile engineers
  • Maintain clean, organised, and efficient stores areas
  • Support and coordinate van delivery drivers operating from the depot
  • Assist the service department with stock analysis and utilisation reporting
  • Monitor stock levels and support effective procurement decisions
  • Help develop and improve stores and parts management processes
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure parts availability and operational efficiency
  • Support general stores and procurement duties as required

Requirements
  • Previous experience within stores, procurement, stock control, logistics, or parts coordination
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good numeracy skills and confidence working with stock information
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work

Desirable Skills
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or equipment environment
  • Experience using stock management or procurement systems
  • Forklift licence (training can be provided)
  • Experience managing multi-site stock environments
