NXT Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Payroll Administrator on behalf of a well-established and professional organisation based in Cumbria. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive payroll team, working with a varied portfolio of clients ranging from small family-run businesses through to larger organisations. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an accurate, efficient, and high-quality payroll service while building strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
This position would suit an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working within a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent client service. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Processing payrolls accurately and efficiently across a varied client portfolio
- Managing payroll calculations in line with current legislation and compliance requirements
- Handling Auto Enrolment duties and pension submissions
- Managing holiday pay calculations, statutory payments, and year-end processes
- Liaising directly with clients and HMRC regarding payroll queries
- Ensuring all payroll deadlines are consistently met
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation
- Supporting clients with payroll-related queries and guidance
- Working collaboratively within the payroll team to ensure excellent service delivery
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the department
What will you bring?
- Previous payroll experience is essential
- Experience working within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
