We are currently recruiting a finance assistant to join a well-established organisation based in Carlisle on a temporary basis for up to 6 weeks. This role is to support a busy finance function and is available for an immediate start. This opportunity would suit someone with previous finance or accounts experience who is looking for a short-term role within a supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Raising sales invoices and processing purchase invoices using Sage 200
- Assisting with payment runs for suppliers
- Reconciling weekly income figures
- Carrying out regular bank reconciliations
- Maintaining and updating supplier and customer records
- Supporting credit control activities and issuing statements
- Processing purchase orders and checking supplier documentation
- Compiling financial and statistical reports
- Supporting wider teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Handling incoming emails, calls and general enquiries
- Maintaining accurate filing and financial records
- Supporting compliance with internal procedures and relevant regulations
About you
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
- Experience using Sage, ideally Sage 200, would be beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively
- Confident communicator with a professional approach
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
