Commercial Parts Advisor
Location: Carlisle
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonus scheme following successful completion of probation
Hours:
• Monday to Friday, rotating shifts of 8:00am to 4:30pm and 9:00am to 5:30pm
• Alternate Saturdays, 8:00am to 12:00pm
Overview
NXT Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established commercial vehicle business to recruit an experienced Commercial Parts Advisor for their busy Carlisle branch.
This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused individual with parts experience to join a supportive and experienced team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting trade customers, workshop teams, and fleet operators by accurately identifying and supplying commercial vehicle parts, helping to minimise vehicle downtime and maintain exceptional service levels.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, source, and supply commercial vehicle parts accurately and efficiently
Support trade customers, workshop teams, and fleet operators with parts enquiries
Process customer orders, quotations, returns, and invoices
Source parts from suppliers to meet customer requirements and delivery deadlines
Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock control activities
Provide excellent customer service both face-to-face and over the telephone
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
Ensure all parts transactions are completed accurately and in line with company procedures
Support the wider team to achieve departmental objectives and service standards
Assist with general branch operations as required
Requirements
Previous experience within a commercial vehicle, automotive, truck, or parts environment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Confidence handling multiple enquiries and priorities
Basic IT skills and experience using parts systems or stock management software
Full UK driving licence
Professional and proactive approach to work
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of commercial vehicle parts catalogues and manufacturer systems
Experience supporting trade customers, workshops, or fleet operators
Understanding of stock control and inventory management processes
Previous experience within a motor factor, dealership, or commercial vehicle
operation
