NXT Recruitment is supporting a well-established and highly respected accountancy and business advisory firm in the North to recruit a Business Services Senior. This is an excellent opportunity to join a sizeable and forward-thinking practice with a strong regional presence and a reputation for long-term client relationships. The firm works with a broad range of businesses and private clients and offers genuine scope for progression within a supportive, professional environment.
The Role
As a Business Services Senior, you will join an experienced Business Services team supporting a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. The role will involve hands-on preparation work, supporting managers with compliance and reporting, and maintaining strong working relationships with clients. This position can be based in either Carlisle or Penrith and includes working with a specialist client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing draft financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies for review
- Preparing draft business tax computations
- Preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments and management accounts
- Assisting with the filing of financial statements and corporate tax returns
- Liaising with Managers and Assistant Managers, raising queries where appropriate
- Supporting the team to ensure deadlines are met and service standards maintained
About You
- AAT, ICAS, ACA or ACCA qualified
- Experience working within an accountancy practice
- Experience working with agriculture-focused clients is desirable, or an interest in supporting clients within this sector
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Able to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines
- A proactive team player who takes pride in delivering quality work
