This is a key, client‑facing role focused on managing and developing long‑term client relationships while delivering high‑quality advisory and compliance services. This role would suit someone who enjoys working closely with business owners, has strong commercial awareness, and takes pride in delivering a consistently high standard of service.

The Role

As a Business Relationship Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact. The role combines technical delivery with relationship management, commercial insight, and proactive support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of approximately 50–100 clients
  • Deliver a consistently high-quality, proactive client service
  • Identify opportunities to add value and introduce additional services
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, on time, and within agreed budgets
  • Plan, prepare, review, and present financial accounts to a high standard
  • Prepare business tax computations for review
  • Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Maintain accounting records and management information as required
  • Produce management reports and provide insight to improve profitability and cash flow
  • Resolve client queries promptly and professionally
  • Work closely with senior leadership to support business planning and development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory and legislative changes
  • Attend client premises where required and support ad‑hoc projects

  • Experience within accountancy or professional services
  • Strong relationship management and client-facing skills
  • Commercially aware and confident discussing solutions with clients
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Comfortable using accounts preparation and reporting software
  • Clear communicator with a professional, approachable manner
