NXT Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced HR Officer on behalf of a well-established organisation based near Brampton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a varied generalist HR role, working closely with managers and employees across the business. The successful candidate will be part of a small and supportive HR team, giving them exposure to a broad range of HR responsibilities.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is robust, resilient and comfortable working in a busy environment where deadlines need to be met. You’ll be a proactive thinker who is happy to use your initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do. You’ll understand the basics of HR, but equally be keen to learn, develop your knowledge and take on more responsibility as your experience grows. The successful candidate will be approachable, professional and confident when dealing with people at all levels, while having the resilience to deal with challenging situations and competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees
- Assist with employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance issues
- Support the HR Manager with employee relations cases and ensure processes are managed appropriately
- Attend meetings, take accurate notes and prepare relevant HR documentation
- Provide advice and support around probationary periods
- Manage recruitment processes including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and onboarding
- Coordinate new starter and leaver processes, including exit interviews and relevant documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems
- Assist with HR reporting, data analysis and ongoing HR projects
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Maintain internal HR communications and ensure information remains accurate and accessible
- Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
- Ensure all HR activity is handled professionally, confidentially and in line with current legislation
Requirements
- Previous experience within an HR role
- A basic understanding of HR processes and UK employment legislation
- Experience supporting employee relations matters would be advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines
- Confident managing multiple priorities
- Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
- CIPD Level 3 would be advantageous but is not essential
- A genuine willingness to learn and develop within HR
