NXT Recruitment is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a long-established local business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in accounting while contributing to the success of a dynamic organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and reports.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with audits.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in an accounting or finance-related role (1–2 years preferred).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage Intact, Xero).
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel & formulas.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
