We are now hiring a Senior Operations Manager to take full ownership of a key fulfilment centre in Coventry.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for the end-to-end performance of a high-volume fulfilment operation. You will lead warehouse teams, optimise processes, and ensure SLAs are consistently met across a diverse portfolio of eCommerce clients. This is not a watch from the sidelines role; it is for someone who thrives in the detail, leads from the front, and builds scalable, high-performing operations. Importantly, this role suits someone who is comfortable with modern tools and technology in operations, including AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude), advanced Excel/Google Sheets, reporting dashboards, and presentation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Leadership
- Own day-to-day performance across inbound, outbound, inventory, and dispatch.
- Deliver against KPIs including accuracy, productivity, cost, and SLA compliance.
- Lead and develop warehouse teams, team leads, and supervisors.
- Manage labour planning, shift allocation, and resource optimisation.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards.
- Process, Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement across all warehouse operations.
- Maximise use of the WMS (Mintsoft experience highly advantageous).
- Improve data accuracy, system adoption, and reporting capability across teams.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement scalable process improvements.
- Use data, reporting tools, and modern tech to improve decision-making.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as operational lead for key eCommerce clients.
- Ensure SLAs are consistently met and exceeded.
- Oversee onboarding and integration of new clients into the operation.
- Produce clear, insightful performance reports and operational updates.
- Communicate effectively with internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Strategic Contribution
- Work directly with founders on operational strategy and growth initiatives.
- Support cross-site standardisation across UK and international locations.
- Contribute to expansion projects, new services, and facility improvements.
- Help build scalable systems to support rapid business growth.
What We Are Looking For
This role is ideal for someone from a 3PL, fulfilment, or eCommerce logistics background who is ready to step into a high-ownership leadership position. You will likely have:
- Experience leading warehouse or fulfilment operations in a 3PL environment.
- Strong people leadership experience (teams, supervisors, or shift leads).
- Hands-on experience with WMS platforms (Mintsoft is a strong plus).
- A strong understanding of operational KPIs, cost drivers, and SLAs.
- Experience working with eCommerce / DTC / omnichannel clients.
Modern, Tech-Enabled Operator
We are particularly interested in someone who is:
- Confident using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to improve productivity, reporting, or problem-solving.
- Highly proficient in Google Sheets / Excel (reporting, analysis, modelling).
- Comfortable building and presenting operational reports and presentations.
- Data-driven and able to translate numbers into clear operational action.
- Open to using technology to modernise warehouse and fulfilment operations.
