Computeam is a fast-growing education technology provider, delivering managed IT services to over 500 school and Multi-academy Trust clients across the UK. We are now looking for an IT Field Engineer to join our world-class company. Candidates must have a good understanding of an experienced IT Field Engineer and be someone who is competent working with clients, customers, and colleagues of all levels of seniority.
What are the main duties for this role?
- On and off-site troubleshooting for a regular portfolio of school clients of around 5-10 schools.
- Providing technical support in a deadline-heavy environment (early morning troubleshooting essential).
- Troubleshoot a range of issues relating to networks, account management, hardware, printing, CCTV, and school management systems.
- Collaboration with our team of Project Managers to share knowledge of school technical infrastructures and systems.
What skills will you need to be successful in this role?
- Be able to develop great working relationships with all members in the school setting.
- Be able to talk in non-technical terms to fully support clients with their IT use and engagement.
- Have around 3 yearsβ in-role experience in IT support or consultancy services, ideally in the Education or Public Sectors.
- Working knowledge of firewalls, Windows AD, Azure AD, MS Intune device management, MS Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive.
- MS Server build knowledge and hands-on experience, 2016β2019.
- Working knowledge of LAN & or WAN technologies.
- Beneficial to have: VMWare, Hyper-V, Google Workspace for Education.
- Beneficial Qualifications: Networking β i.e. CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA/CCNP.

Salary & Expenses:
Computeam Pay Scale Grade 3: IT Field Engineer β Desk & Field Based, 2nd Line Β£24,000 - Β£30,000 per annum (full time). Mileage expenses reimbursement (own car essential and full driving licence). Laptop and phone provided. Work uniform polo shirt & fleece.
What are the working arrangements?
- Hours: 40 per week between 8am and 5.30pm
- Days: Monday β Friday only
- Where: Mostly on site at schools and some work from home

Pay: Β£24,000.00-Β£30,000.00 per year
