NXA Talent are delighted to be partnering with a national haulier for a key planning hire with strategic transport experience to help plan their national network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan efficient routes and driver schedules using TMS to optimise national haulage network.
- Tailoring daily transport plan to regional need and operational variances.
- Observe and monitor adherence to UK/EU rules on driver working hours, breaks, and tachograph usage.
- Utilise network resource as needed across the network.
- Record issues across the operation and flag to appropriate senior leadership.
- Utilise subcontractors and other external resource as necessary.
- Manage relationships with permanent and agency drivers.
Skillset:
- Strong decision-making and commercial judgment in time-sensitive, peak-demand environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with planning systems/TMS.
- Familiar with industry legislation (VOSA).
- Experience in transport planning is necessary with a background in general haulage being highly advantageous.
- Commercial approach to transport planning is an advantage.
