Our client is a well-established haulage operator with a strong reputation for service, safety, and operational excellence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a commercially minded Depot Manager to lead and develop one of their key Scottish operations. This is a senior operational role with full responsibility for depot performance, profitability, compliance, and customer service.

As Depot Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the day-to-day running and commercial success of the depot. You will lead transport and operational teams as well as be responsible for customer acquisition. Full P&L responsibility for the depot, driving revenue growth and cost control.

  • Managing all transport and warehouse operations, ensuring service levels are consistently achieved.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing transport managers, planners, supervisors, and drivers.
  • Managing fleet utilisation, maintenance planning, and operational efficiency.
  • Building strong relationships with key customers, identifying opportunities to improve service and grow accounts.
  • Monitoring and reporting on KPIs including margin, utilisation, compliance, service performance, and costs.
  • Acting as the senior point of contact for customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

This role will suit a commercially astute transport professional with strong leadership skills and a proven background in depot or site management within the haulage sector.

  • Proven experience as a Depot Manager, Transport Manager, or Senior Operations Manager within haulage or related transport environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, margins, and cost control.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK road transport legislation and Operator Licence compliance.
  • Experience using transport management systems and performance reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills.
