Key Responsibilities

  • Network Analysis & Optimisation: Analyse historical transport data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for network improvement. Model the impact of potential changes, such as new depot locations, different routing strategies, or shifts in delivery patterns.
  • Performance & KPI Management: Develop, monitor, and report on a suite of strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) covering cost, service, and sustainability. Go beyond daily metrics to analyse cost-to-serve, asset utilisation, and environmental impact.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects: Act as a key analytical resource for continuous improvement initiatives. Provide the data and insights needed to build business cases for new technologies, process changes, and strategic projects.
  • Strategic Initiative Support: Support the Solution Design and Business Development teams by providing essential data analysis for new client tenders and solution reviews. Evaluate the potential of emerging technologies and alternative fuels.
  • Carrier Performance Management: Analyse the performance of our partner carriers against agreed service levels and cost benchmarks. Support strategic carrier reviews by providing objective, data-driven insights to foster partnership and drive improvement.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate recurring operational challenges by analysing performance data to identify the underlying causes and recommend sustainable, long-term solutions.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a Transport or Solution Design role.
  • Proven experience in an analytical role within a logistics, supply chain, or a comparable data-intensive industry.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • An ability to think strategically and see the "bigger picture" beyond day-to-day operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for various stakeholders.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
