As the Depot Manager you will lead a General Haulage operation developing profitability and performance across a sizeable operation. The successful candidate will have an operational knowledge of transport while also having sound commercial skills in terms of driving operational profitability.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver improving financial performance for the operation & finding opportunities to increase profitability
- Engage and work closely with key internal stakeholders to improve cohesion
- Improve an already strong customer centric approach with a focus on driver behaviours
- Take full independent compliance responsibility and proactively tackle any issues to ensure highest operational standards
- Ensures that all relevant legislative requirements are adhered to by all staff and standards are at the highest level possible
- Prepare annual budgets and report on monthly financial performance of the operation.
Candidate skillset:
- Experience within either a general haulage or commercial transport operation
- Detailed knowledge of legal compliance and experience independently running a transport operation
- Experience of managing costs/budgets is an advantage
- An ability to build customer relationships is an advantage
