An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Business Officer to join the NHS Shared Services – Procurement Services\’ Frontline Procurement Team based at St David\’s Park, Carmarthen. Person Specification

Shortlisting criteria:

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of professional purchasing principles acquired through NVQ level 3 or Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply, plus knowledge of contract law acquired through short courses and experience OR
  • Previous work experience in a contracting function: e.g. ability to interpret and develop technical and commercial specifications to support sourcing activities, experience working with end users to translate operational requirements into clear, concise procurement documentation, appraise suppliers, invite tenders & evaluate bids, terms and conditions of contract.
  • Proven ability to build, manage, and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to engaging diverse teams and vendors.
  • 5 GCSEs grade C and above, including Maths & English or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft products
  • Proven ability to prepare documentation utilising Microsoft products that are both structurally and grammatically correct and capable of final presentation

  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets
