This is an exciting opportunity to work within an NHS Laundry based in Llansamlet, Swansea. We are looking to recruit a Laundry Assistant to work in Swansea Laundry. The role will suit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to work in a busy production environment that processes linen for Hospitals and Health care premises across South West Wales.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • The post holder will be required to carry out tasks within all sections of the laundry as and when required, from receiving, sorting, processing soiled and infectious linen, through to dispatching clean linen to our customers.
  • The post holder will be required to perform in set areas of work, but within an overall flexible framework. The main areas of work include sorting, the wash house, calendars, dry fold, packing and dispatch.

NWSSP work in an agile way where possible. Posts have a contractual base but may involve agile working including remote locations. We balance flexibility with community and opportunities to learn from each other.

Experience:

Essential criteria: Working in an industrial or factory production environment.

Desirable criteria: Previous Commercial or Health Care Laundry experience.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria: Good standard of general education.

Desirable criteria: Laundry specific qualification.
