Job Overview
An experienced R&D Stores Manager will lead the Supply Chain and Receipt & Distribution team within NWSSP.
The role focuses on receiving, storing and distributing goods, while ensuring high quality service, health & safety, and efficient staff management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee receipt of stock into R&D stores from third parties and regional stores.
- Scan stock items to allocate to wards promptly.
- Deliver stock and non‑stock items across the Health Board Site.
- Manage distribution of workload to staff in line with policy and process.
- Ensure adequate resources and equipment are available for daily operations.
- Maintain general security of the receipt area.
- Supervise staff activity to ensure service standards are met.
- Allocate staff to daily tasks to maintain efficient stores operation.
- Maintain and update specific information in line with quality procedures.
- Assist in unloading vehicles and staging items for distribution.
- Supervise booking processes.
- Assist senior management with modernisation of processes.
- Monitor staff performance using audit methods to analyse information.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- HNC/Diploma level education or equivalent experience in a Stores environment.
- Knowledge and experience of risk assessments and identifying risk in a busy environment.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage staff effectively.
- Clear grasp of health & safety and service delivery principles.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in policy development and change management within supply chain.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with systems development and enhancements to support services.
- Experience in training and development for staff.
- Welsh language skills.
- Additional Requirements
- The postholder will have access to vulnerable people and must comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and DBS checks.
- Non‑UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship for a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa.
