An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NWSSP Finance Team in the role of Assistant Management Accountant (Systems). Based in our HQ in Nantgarw, Cardiff, the role may involve working from home in the short to medium term and will provide a wide range of experience in financial management across NWSSP. The role requires a hard‑working, committed individual with financial experience and a good eye for detail who works well as part of a team operating under strict deadlines.

Main Duties

  • This position provides comprehensive financial management advice, support and information to managers at all levels.
  • The key responsibilities include producing an accurate monthly financial position, annual and ad‑hoc costing work, and supporting budget holders on all financial matters.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential: Educated to A level or equivalent.
  • Essential: AAT qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: Part CCAB qualified or studying for a CCAB qualification.

Experience

  • Essential: Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
  • Desirable: Experience of NHS Finance.
  • Desirable: Experience of using Oracle Financials.

Skills

  • Essential: Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Essential: Understanding of basic principles of accountancy/financial management and financial management systems.
  • Essential: Excellent oral and telephone skills.
  • Desirable: Ability to use Microsoft Access and PowerPoint.
  • Desirable: Ability to convey financial information to non‑financial managers.
