An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, proactive and busy team of lawyers in the Rochdale Legal Team. Your role will be to provide in-house legal support to the Council in relation to property work. The post holder will have conduct of an extensive and varied caseload of matters which, in addition to conveyancing matters, also includes planning, highways & footpath matters; academy conversions and commercial property work in relation to major commercial and residential regeneration schemes within the Borough.

The postholder will be required to give advice on a large range of property issues to clients and sometimes members and should have an ability to negotiate points of law. The ideal candidate must be motivated and enthusiastic and be a pro-active team player who is able to work as part of a busy team; can react positively to changing priorities and is willing to embrace new technology and ways of working as well as possessing good interpersonal skills. Local authority experience is preferable; however, Rochdale Council will consider private practice and public sector candidates.
