As a progressive, second-generation family business, we provide waste management services to the industrial, commercial, and construction industries. Our team of over 350 employees operates across ten sites in Scotland and North East England.
As a Transport Team Leader Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting our Transport function while working towards your Level 3 Team Leader qualification. You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the day to day coordination of drivers and fleet operations
- Assisting with route planning and workload allocation
- Communicating effectively with drivers, customers and internal departments
- Monitoring compliance with health and safety and transport legislation
- Supporting driver performance, absence management and general welfare
- Using transport systems and administrative processes accurately
- Developing leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
This role combines practical on the job experience with structured apprenticeship learning to build your leadership capability within a busy operational environment.
What Are We Looking For?
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence working in a fast paced operational environment
- An interest in leadership and people management
- Basic IT skills
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, or willingness to work towards them
- Previous transport experience is not essential, however an understanding of logistics or fleet operations would be beneficial.
