Overview

Wastewater Operator role at NWG (Northumbrian Water Group). Location Marske, Redcar. 37 hours per week. Permanent. Salary £26,480 – £33,100 (depending on experience). Flexible working arrangements considered. Participation in out of hours standby required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations to meet regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Handle water samples, monitor equipment, and analyse trends to ensure proper treatment.
  • Carry out routine checks and fault-finding, ensuring safety procedures and environmental commitments are upheld.
  • Support the standby rota for out-of-hours cover when required.

About You / Requirements

  • Full UK driving license is essential; van provided for work travel between sites.
  • Proactive, organised, detail-focused with good communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to learn; full training will be provided.
  • Experience with water or wastewater processes is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to use multiple technologies and apps; comfortable with hands-on work.
