About The Role

Are you passionate about Industry 4.0, IIoT and the role technology plays in our operations? We’ve an exciting opportunity to join our Information Services team as a Project Engineer.

Operational Technology (OT) is at the heartbeat of our operations and enables remote monitoring and control of our assets. You will support our operations to deliver amazing clean drinking water to our customers whilst also enhancing and protecting the environment for the benefit of wildlife and the communities we serve.

Reporting to the Head of Operational Technology, you’ll join a team who is responsible for configuration and end-to end testing of remote telemetry systems (RTUs), associated field devices and communication to our regional SCADA system. Working closely service providers such as operations, water quality, asset investment and maintenance, you will provide project services and technical support to commission new or updated assets.

We’re looking for you to support the delivery of our OT strategy and to ensure our systems, safe, secure, and compliant with all relevant standards and legislation.

You’ll also provide technical support to operational and maintenance teams and support in the diagnosis and fault finding to mitigate regulatory non-compliance and process continuity risks.

About You

You’ll have knowledge of Instrumentation, Process Control and Measurement systems such as flow meters, online analytics, level and pressure instruments. In addition, you’ll have knowledge of wide area telemetry systems and plant fieldbus systems.

You’ll have proven experience of working in a SCADA configuration environment and ideally using devices that utilise the WITS DNP3 open protocol standard.

The successful candidate will be educated in an engineering, electronics or IT discipline as well as having an awareness of network fundamentals and cyber security best practices.

Knowledge of fault finding on equipment within the SCADA & telemetry systems is essential as well as having knowledge of current and emerging OT technologies.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service with the ability to communicate complex information to non-technical customers as well as being able to work under pressure and prioritise a demanding workload.
