Office and field based role in Clitheroe, Lancashire with a salary range of £28,000 - £35,000 (DOIE).
Purpose of the role: The Sales Executive will drive new business into distributors, wholesalers and end-user brands whilst growing existing accounts for an established manufacturer based in Clitheroe. This is a 360° role covering prospecting, customer visits, quoting, closing and ongoing account management across the UK and selected international markets.
Key responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and win new business with distributors, wholesalers and corporate end-users.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customers, increasing spend, improving retention and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Plan and execute regular field visits, calls and online meetings, maintaining a structured weekly visit/call plan.
- Qualify enquiries, prepare quotes, negotiate pricing within agreed margins and close orders to meet monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Develop a strong understanding of product range, lead times, MOQs and technical options to confidently advise customers on suitable solutions.
- Actively prospect via cold calling, email, networking, exhibitions and social media to keep the pipeline full of qualified opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity, customer trends and market developments - feeding insights back to management.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including pipeline stages, call notes, visit reports and forecast data.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure on-time delivery/high customer satisfaction – including any complaint resolution(s).
- Represent the business at trade shows and industry events, presenting products and generating qualified leads.
- Raising invoices (Xero) / processing payments on allocated customer accounts.
Candidate profile:
- Proven B2B sales experience, and a willingness to drive new business.
- Confident communicator (phone, email, face-to-face) with good presentation skills.
- Comfortable in a 360° role: sourcing leads, booking meetings, running appointments, quoting and closing deals.
- Strong relationship-builder with experience managing and growing distributor and key account relationships.
- Commercially aware, able to balance price, margin and service to secure profitable business.
- Organised and self-motivated, able to plan territory/sector activity and produce regular visit and sales reports.
- Competent using CRM and Microsoft Office (or similar) for reporting and pipeline management.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for customer visits, trade fairs and events as required.
