Joinery Projects Installation Manager

NW Recruitment Services Ltd are exclusively supporting a well-established specialist joinery and interior fit-out business in the recruitment of an experienced Joinery Projects Installation Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced joinery professional who combines strong technical knowledge with proven project and site management experience.
Working across bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects, you will take responsibility for coordinating projects from internal handover through to successful completion on site.
You will work closely with design, production, procurement, clients, subcontractors and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required standard and within agreed timescales.
The role
As Joinery Projects Installation Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects, with particular responsibility for the installation and site-based elements.
You will be responsible for
- Coordinating and monitoring site installation activities, ensuring labour and resources are effectively utilised.
- Managing site teams, subcontractors and installation activities to ensure projects remain on programme.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality and presentation throughout project delivery.
- Working closely with design and production teams to ensure manufactured joinery is delivered in line with project requirements and programme dates.
- Identifying potential issues at an early stage and coordinating practical solutions with the relevant teams.
- Liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders throughout the installation process.
- Coordinating materials and resources required for site activities, working with procurement teams and suppliers where necessary.
- Preparing and maintaining project-specific documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements and site project files.
- Ensuring installation teams have all relevant drawings, information and documentation required to complete the works.
- Conducting site surveys and measurements for bespoke joinery and interior installations.
- Supervising, training and supporting employees and subcontractors working on projects.
- Attending project, production and management meetings as required.
- Monitoring progress against agreed programmes and escalating potential delays or issues appropriately.
- Providing feedback to support improvements in project delivery, installation methods and internal processes.
- Ensuring all site activities are undertaken in accordance with relevant Health & Safety requirements.
- Supporting the successful handover and completion of projects.
About you
The successful candidate will ideally have a strong background in bespoke joinery, shopfitting or interior fit-out, combined with practical project management and site installation experience.
You should have
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within the joinery industry, supported by a relevant qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ, GNVQ or equivalent.
- Proven experience managing joinery or interior fit-out projects, with a successful track record of delivering projects to agreed deadlines.
- Previous experience coordinating site installation teams, including both directly employed and subcontract labour.
- The ability to read and interpret bespoke joinery and manufacturing CAD drawings with a strong understanding of joinery manufacturing and installation processes.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the confidence to resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with clients, colleagues, contractors, suppliers and site teams.
- The confidence to lead, motivate and oversee teams, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a construction and site environment.
- Competence using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Flexibility to work additional hours where required to support project deadlines and workflow.
Experience across retail, commercial, hospitality/hotel or residential fit-out projects would be advantageous.
Qualifications & Certifications
- SMSTS certification – desirable | Valid CSCS Card – required | First Aid qualification – desirable but not essential | Knowledge of CDM Regulations – advantageous.
What’s on offer?
£40,000 – £46,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
