Pay Rate: ÂŁ12.46 per hour (weekly pay)
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 18:00 (no Friday or weekend work)

About the role:
We are recruiting a reliable and physically fit Packing Operative to join a busy engineering and manufacturing site in Blackburn. The business specialises in the production of high-quality metal components, supplying a wide range of industries. From fabrication and finishing through to despatch, the team ensures products meet exacting standards before being delivered to customers.
Role Overview
As a Packing Operative, you will be responsible for handling and preparing finished metal products for despatch, ensuring they are securely packed and meet customer requirements. The role involves heavy lifting and requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely lift, move, palletise and wrap finished metal products ready for despatch.
- Carry out basic quality checks on finished goods, reporting any issues or defects.
- Pack products according to work instructions and specifications, ensuring correct labelling and protection.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area in line with 5S/housekeeping standards.
- Support adjacent departments (such as Paint Line or Production) with loading/unloading and moving parts as required.
- Handle products from the powder-coating line, preparing them for packing and delivery.
- Ensure timely movement of goods and materials to keep workflow efficient.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily production and despatch targets.

- Able to work in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or engineering setting is desirable but not essential.
